Following a sold out premiere at Peckham’s Ghost Notes in May (with a guest appearance from none other than Damon Albarn), afrobeat originator Tony Allen and Detroit funk and soul legend Amp Fiddler
reconvene to the Jazz Cafe for their unique collaboration.
With a friendship dating back 20 years, they boast a combined list of collaborators including Fela Kuti, Jeff Mills, Prince, George Clinton, Oumou Sangare, Theo Parrish, J Dilla and Moodymann.
Fresh off the back of Amp’s critically acclaimed Amp Dog Knights on Moodymann’s Mahogani Music and Tony’s The Source on Blue Note, we can’t wait to welcome them back to our stage.
Opening the show on the night will be jazz-inflected electronic duo Equal Echo
, a new project from Hector Plimmer and Alexa Harley.
