The last ever New Slang at The Hippodrome.
New Slang was born at The Hippodrome (then known as The Works) 12 years ago. Although we've moved back and forth, The Hippodrome is New Slang's spiritual home, and July 12th is our last ever night there. If New Slang has ever meant anything to you over the years then please join us for an emotional send off, and the last time we're ever to set foot in the place.
Of course we'll be playing songs from Vampire Weekend, Sundara Karma, Bloc Party, Catfish And The Bottlemen, Wolf Alice, The 1975, Vaccines, Two Door Cinema Club, CHVRCHES, Frank Turner, Alt-j, Arcade Fire, Parquet Courts, Foals, The Cribs, Jamie T, George Ezra, Arctic Monkeys, MGMT, Slaves, Mystery Jets, and The Shins. And many more. We're hoping some of the older faces also make it out (book the 13th off now!), and see us off in style, and what should be one of the all-time great New Slangs.
The Hippodrome is an 18+ venue. Valid PHOTO ID will be required.
As usual entry is £4 with a flyer / £5 without. Earlier in the evening Tom Grennan is playing live and if you come to the show you of course stay in for the clubnight. You can grab album+ticket combos from the events page: https://banquetrecords.com/events
New Slang is held at The Hippodrome, 1 St James Road, Kingston, KT1 2AH
