8th November 2018
7.30 pm: Limited Capacity!
Ealing Eclectic MusicSpace + Wymer Publishing present a special launch event of
«Tales of a Rock Star's Daughter» by Nettie Baker
Daughter of the legendary drummer Ginger Baker (Cream and Blues Incorporated) will be presenting and signing copies of her new book detailing a crazy life growing up in the shadow of her father's career forged in the early days of British R & B. This genre became the template for a great percentage of British Rock Music finding mass popularity in the US & beyond.
The evening will be hosted within the original location of the Ealing Club where in 1962, Blues Incorporated began the first British Electric Blues venue that would host regular evening blues sessions featuring Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce as part of the band.
Ealing also helped influence the careers of members of the The Rolling Stones, Manfred Mann, The Who and countless other «yet to be legendary» musicians eager to immerse themselves in the now iconic blues guitar and harmonica influenced sound.
Music From Justine Armatage of The Cesarians.
Ealing Eclectic MusicSpace is delighted to support a special performance from Justine Armatage + guests. As founder member of Art-Rock band The Cesarians, Justine plays keyboards/violin as well as composing & arranging all the original material. Justine’s dad, jazz drummer Johnny Armatage was a friend of Ginger Baker & involved in the R&B scene. The Cesarians’ latest album has been described «as imagining the band Arab Strap jamming with the Bad Seeds after a wild night in some dive bar they'll never find again»
Expect a music performance a little different from many other Ealing club performances. This one will be 'Eclectic' and specially selected by Nettie Baker
